Today, a spokesperson at Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed to gamesindustry.biz PlayStation will not have any attendance to ESA’s upcoming E3 show that will take place in late June.

“After thorough evaluation SIE has decided not to participate in E3 2020,” said a Sony Interactive Entertainment spokesperson. “We have great respect for the ESA as an organization, but we do not feel the vision of E3 2020 is the right venue for what we are focused on this year.”

This is quite disappointing news for the fans of E3, however Microsoft later confirmed they will have full presence at E3 2020 which may showcase their upcoming next-generation hardware and other major announcements for Xbox.

Later that day, the head of Xbox Phil Spencer responded to a fan many hours after Sony announced their none attendance.

It will be interesting to see where the show goes in late June, an E3 show without Sony for the third time is not looking too good for the future ahead of the ESA’s show.
